Friday, Saturday & Sunday, San Diego, CA

Friday...Worked, walked, we went shopping and of course being Veteran's Day everywhere was crowded.

Saturday.... It rained all day, a good soaking rain, just what Texas needs.  Stayed in but we are looking forward to tomorrow as plan to go to watch the AC45 (America's Cup) trials.

Sunday.... Woke up to a beautiful day. Sunny and warm with no clouds. We opted to take the Blue Line Trolley (electric train) to downtown as parking is at a premium and many streets are closed because of the AC45 event. The ride wasn't bad with a short walk to the AC45 event.  Walked around viewing the boats, had a bite to eat and then watched the boats race.  Some of the country's racing are Korea, Australia, China, Switzerland, of course America. (I can't remember the others) See our pics.

Getting everything rigged and ready to race

Are they're off.

This octopus is made out of plastic bottles, bags, etc.

On our ride back on the trolley we rode all the way to the last stop on the rail which is right outside Tiajuana.  You can see the bridge to walk over the border.  Then back to our stop and home.

Monday and Tuesday there is no racing and Wednesday starts the actual races.  We'll be there for the action.

Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday- San Diego

Tuesday.... I worked for about an hour and then we took off to check out the other side of San Diego and the downtown area. We found this beach, got out and watched some surfers. I saw a surfer do a hand stand on his board. Unfortunately Pat didn't catch this on camera. The weather is fab today, cool with lots of sunshine.

How do you like my new shades??  Stopped at the one of the large West Marine store's and this was our purchase; went with white in lieu of always black.

This was a view from the street when we left the beach. You can see all of downtown SD.

Picture of the airport from Cabrillo National Monument

We drove to the Cabrillo National Monument and walked the area to view all the history and the lighthouse used many years ago.

Cool Pic - looking up the stairway at the house used by the family that took care of  the lighthouse.

We viewed the Rosecrans National Memorial Cemetery. It's very eye-opening to view all the grave markers.

We then traveled back to the bay area to see where best to view the AC (America's Cup) racing. We actually got to see some of the race boats sailing in the bay...see pics

We then went to to check out the Seaport Village Shopping Center roaming around the various shops and restaurants along the bay.  Today was a full day away from the RV.
Wednesday... grocery shopped, walked, just hung out. The weather is beautiful today, warmer than last week. Supposed to be cold tonight like last night, down in the low 40's.

Thursday.... The temperature didn't get down in the 40's like predicted, it was about 63 when we got up today.  Today was a heavy work day for me, worked most of the day, got my 30 minute walk in then time to watch "Ellen" and the taped CMA awards from last night.

Today was overcast and warm about 74 for the high.  They are predicting rain again for this weekend.

Monday-San Diego, CA

Monday..... Pat went for a long ride on the BMW and I worked.  It was good to have a little separation since we'd been cooped up in the RV due to the rain over the weekend. Here's some pics of Pat's ride.

The below are all pics of the Salton Sea area

Wednesday through Sunday, San Diego, CA

Wednesday....Worked, walked, just hung out.

Thursday... Worked, walked, laundry day.

Friday... Worked, it rained all day and most of Friday night.  Watched TV, played on the computer.

Saturday.... Left early this morning to avoid the crowd at both Walmart and Von's, Pat is making meatloaf, I'll make mashed potatoes and some veggies.  Took a long walk today as couldn't walk yesterday due to the rain.  Today is cool and sunny. It's in the high 60's but there are kids in the pool. I know its heated but.....WOW.  They're tougher than me.

Sunday.... It's fall back day on the time.  Blaze woke me up at 3:30 regular time, took him out for his duties and then poor thing, he's sick, throwing up.  Pat got up so at 4:00 (before moving clock back)  we are watching some taped TV series we had saved.  Had breakfast at about 5:00 (correct time) ..... I have a feeling its going to be a loooong day. Today's weather has been overcast and then about 1:30 started to rain again.  Since we've been inside all day, my diet has gone to hell, I've eaten everything in site. (boredom)   Blaze started feeling better in the afternoon and is getting back to his old self.   Tomorrow the sun should shine.  Yeah.

Monday & Tuesday-San Diego, CA

Monday.....Worked for 5 hours and stayed around the RV park.  Had a great dinner of grilled steak, baked potato and salad.

Tuesday.... Put in some work time and then drove downtown to Old Town.  Walked around all the buildings, museums and shops.  If you want any items that you could buy in Mexico just go to Old Town, they have it all.

Came home and had some lunch, Pat napped and I played on the computer until time to go get my hair cut at Diva's Hair Salon.   Went to Target and got Blaze some new balls to chase after then home for the evening.

Took a few pics of the homeless in Chula Vista, looking towards downtown San Diego.  This is a street/bridge right before you enter the freeway on 5, the homeless have thier belongings on both sides of the road.  How would you like to have port-a-potties in your front yard??  This area is pretty scary.
