Tuesday, Wednesday-McDonough, GA ,Thursday, Anniston, AL

I have to back track a little.  The below pics were taken last Sunday at the Hard Labor State Park.  This is the beach area of the park.  It's actually very nice.  Dogs were not allowed in and we had Blaze when we took the drive to the beach so couldn't walk onto the beach.

Tuesday.... We drove into Atlanta today to visit the Coca Cola Museum and the Atlanta Aquarium. You'll never believe this but when we got the the Aquarium there was a bus load of small children lined up to get into the aquarium. So...we opted to take in the Coca Cola Museum and lo and behold there were kids there also but we bit the bullet and bought our tickets.  We enjoyed the museum, they had some interesting things to view and had a 4D movie with moving chairs.  The museum was basically all about the secret formula of Coca Cola.  We got to do some tasting and at the end we each got a small glass bottle of coke as a souvenier.

We walked from the museum to the aquarium, we didn't have to cross the street as they are both in the same block.  We got right in and viewed the aquarium.  I like this aquarium much more than the one in Chatanooga, TN.  This aquarium has 4 whale sharks.  They are magnificent creatures.  This aquarium also had some very large man-a-rays and all of these could be watched through a HUGE window.  It was awesome.

Wednesday.....  Well it's been raining since yesterday afternoon and all this morning.... Pat's in town.  After I worked and we had lunch there was a break in the rain so we decided to visit the Atlanta Motor Speedway and take the tour.  We were taken in a van around the speedway arena and then drove 2 times on the speedway track itself.  We also got to visit one of the corporate suites.  This is where I want to sit the next time, if there is one, that I go to a race.  The suite holds 40 people and you have your own bartender and food server for the suite.  It has its own bathrooms. This track, probably like most other tracks, have 2 & 3 bedroom condos with all amenities, i.e. swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts. I believe they start at $300,000. See pics......

Here I am in my suite

You can probably see how overcast it is.  As our tour came to an end it started raining again.  Off to the grocery store for a few items and then home.

Thursday..... Left McDonough, GA and drove to Anniston, Alabama. I took us about an hour and half.  We actually got here about the time we left Georgia as we gained an hour as back in Central Standard Time Zone.  We are about 25 miles away from the town of Talladega and about 15 miles away from the Talladega race track.  Anniston is also where Pat's friend, Craig and his wife live.  These are the people we visited at the Hard Labor State Park.  We'll stay in this area for a week then take our time traveling back to Texas.  Have to get back for Cody's graduation.  Don't want to miss that.
