Friday, Saturday & Sunday, San Diego, CA

Friday...Worked, walked, we went shopping and of course being Veteran's Day everywhere was crowded.

Saturday.... It rained all day, a good soaking rain, just what Texas needs.  Stayed in but we are looking forward to tomorrow as plan to go to watch the AC45 (America's Cup) trials.

Sunday.... Woke up to a beautiful day. Sunny and warm with no clouds. We opted to take the Blue Line Trolley (electric train) to downtown as parking is at a premium and many streets are closed because of the AC45 event. The ride wasn't bad with a short walk to the AC45 event.  Walked around viewing the boats, had a bite to eat and then watched the boats race.  Some of the country's racing are Korea, Australia, China, Switzerland, of course America. (I can't remember the others) See our pics.

Getting everything rigged and ready to race

Are they're off.

This octopus is made out of plastic bottles, bags, etc.

On our ride back on the trolley we rode all the way to the last stop on the rail which is right outside Tiajuana.  You can see the bridge to walk over the border.  Then back to our stop and home.

Monday and Tuesday there is no racing and Wednesday starts the actual races.  We'll be there for the action.

Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday- San Diego

Tuesday.... I worked for about an hour and then we took off to check out the other side of San Diego and the downtown area. We found this beach, got out and watched some surfers. I saw a surfer do a hand stand on his board. Unfortunately Pat didn't catch this on camera. The weather is fab today, cool with lots of sunshine.

How do you like my new shades??  Stopped at the one of the large West Marine store's and this was our purchase; went with white in lieu of always black.

This was a view from the street when we left the beach. You can see all of downtown SD.

Picture of the airport from Cabrillo National Monument

We drove to the Cabrillo National Monument and walked the area to view all the history and the lighthouse used many years ago.

Cool Pic - looking up the stairway at the house used by the family that took care of  the lighthouse.

We viewed the Rosecrans National Memorial Cemetery. It's very eye-opening to view all the grave markers.

We then traveled back to the bay area to see where best to view the AC (America's Cup) racing. We actually got to see some of the race boats sailing in the bay...see pics

We then went to to check out the Seaport Village Shopping Center roaming around the various shops and restaurants along the bay.  Today was a full day away from the RV.
Wednesday... grocery shopped, walked, just hung out. The weather is beautiful today, warmer than last week. Supposed to be cold tonight like last night, down in the low 40's.

Thursday.... The temperature didn't get down in the 40's like predicted, it was about 63 when we got up today.  Today was a heavy work day for me, worked most of the day, got my 30 minute walk in then time to watch "Ellen" and the taped CMA awards from last night.

Today was overcast and warm about 74 for the high.  They are predicting rain again for this weekend.

Monday-San Diego, CA

Monday..... Pat went for a long ride on the BMW and I worked.  It was good to have a little separation since we'd been cooped up in the RV due to the rain over the weekend. Here's some pics of Pat's ride.
